Happy Monday! I hope you all had an amazing weekend full of rest, relaxation, and spring activities. I had a lovely weekend, which included lots of walks around my neighborhood and this beautiful view:
Now, as great as jaunts through the hills of San Francisco can be, the highlight of my weekend was a dinner date with my mom at Bar Crudo!
We started off with some wine – Chardonnay for her, sparkling Rose for me – and oysters!! Our favorites are the Kusshis and the Kumamotos, so we got six of each.
For the main event, we ordered a few plates of fish. “Crudo” is Italian for raw, and each of our plates had beautiful pieces of fresh fish, garnished with ingredients that enhanced the flavors. First, scallops with pea puree, asparagus, and orange zest. They left off the pea puree for mine since it had dairy!

On the left, Butterfish with orange and anise, and on the right (my favorite!), Artic Char with wasabi tobiko and dill!
On the side, bread with fragrant olive oil for dipping.
